Let’s Start at the Beginning.

What are parabens?

Parabens are synthetic chemicals used as artificial preservatives added in health and beauty products to provide them with a longer shelf life by helping to prevent the harmful growth of bacteria and mould.

Why are they harmful to us?

Parabens can be easily absorbed through your skin and daily application of skin care products which contain parabens can, over time, cause them to accumulate in your skin.

They can mimic the human hormone estrogen which may interfere with your hormone balance and no one needs that!

What does Vegan mean?

Vegan cosmetics are beauty products that do not contain animal ingredients, animal by-products, or any other animal-derived ingredients, including beeswax and honey.

What does Cruelty-Free Mean?

Cruelty-free means that the product was developed without any tests on animals.  We can all get behind this!!

What is Talc?

Talcum powder is often used in makeup, where it helps to create a silky texture for smooth application.

Talc is a natural clay mineral made up of hydrogen, oxygen, silicon and magnesium. The powder used in beauty products is made from the talc dust the clay forms when it dries out.

Why is Talc Bad for Us?

In its natural form, talc often occurs near deposits of asbestos which should be avoided at all costs. When the talc is mined, there is a chance that asbestos could get into the clay and contaminate the mined talc.

There are concerns about asbestos contaminated talc contributing to the development of cancer.  For this reason, we choose not to use talc in our cosmetics.
